Mini substations vary from 100 kVA to 1 000 kVA and are like regular substations, but much smaller. The transformer has a lower kVA rating, and it has less in the way of secondary distribution equipment (breakers, switch gear, etc.). These are built to customer specifications, such as Eskom, City Power and various municipalities.
