Heat Stress

ExSens Personal Heat Stress Monitor

• Continuous Temperature & Relative Humidity Measurement
• Instrument calculates Dew Point and Wet Bulb Temperatures
• Data Logging with USB Downloading (25,000 Records)
• Colour Coded Alarm Indication
• Intrinsically safe

Kestrel 5400

• Measures Wet Bulb Globe Temperature (WBGT), Thermal Work Limit (TWL), heat index, temperature, humidity and much more. 15 measurements in all!
• Waterless! Natural Wet Bulb Temperature accurately calculated from on-board digital sensors with no tedious setup or maintenance.

The Kestrel 5400 is revolutionary in size, cost and capability for those in need of measuring Heat Stress. Available with or without LiNK (Bluetooth) and / or a compass.

Along with having a Wet Bulb Global Temperature reading, it displays thermal work limit (“TWL”), another recognized composite heat stress prediction tool. For both WBGT and TWL, it provides on-screen alarms when conditions enter the caution and danger zones, providing clear and immediate guidance that heat illness prevention steps must be taken. Clothing levels can also be customized, making it particularly useful in activities requiring heavy protective gear which worsens heat stress. The Kestrel 5400 also displays natural wet bulb temperature, and black globe temperature.

LSI Heat Shield

• Quick, real-time, reliable and accurate assessment of indoor and outdoor heat stress WBGT index (ISO7243)
• Real-time assessment of the thermal comfort PMV- PPD index (ISO7730)
• Verification probe for assessment of the system calibration
• Built-in radio technology for simultaneous wireless monitoring in different locations/heights
• Rated IP54 to withstand harsh environmental conditions

Scarlett TWL 1 S

• 3-color backlight based on TWL index informs users the risk level.
• Work break timer reminds users the work/rest schedule and actively notifies the remote pager (optional) when it counts down to zero

Scarlet TWL-1S is designed to measure WBGT and thermal work limit (TWL) heat index. The TWL measures air temperature, humidity, radiant heat and wind speed to come up with instructions for work, rest and hydration plan. We integrate the algorithm of TWL and work-rest schedule based on the latest guideline. The user-friendly interface even showed different colors to ensure users in line with TWL schedule. For example, red means unsafe for work, yellow means buffer zone and green means safe for work.• 3-color backlight based on TWL index informs users the risk level.

Whirling Hygrometer

The whirling hygrometer also known as a sling psychrometer is made out of two thermometers mounted on a frame which rotates around a handle, so it can be whirled in the air by hand.

One thermometer is covered with a tight-fitting muslin sock which is kept wet by preferably with distilled water. This type of thermometer is known as the wet-bulb thermometer. The other is the dry-bulb thermometer and exposed to the atmosphere directly.

With air less than 100 per cent relative humidity, the wet bulb will display a lower temperature than the dry bulb and is known as wet-bulb depression. A special chart is used to convert the wet-bulb depression to relative humidity or the relative humidity can be determined by correlating the readings with those on a simple slide rule, which is supplied with each instrument
